The next Technit event will take place at the IBM Haifa R&D labs on December 2nd, 9:00-13:30

We have a very exciting agenda for you, including the following sessions:

Big Foot - Reputation, Influence and your Digital Footprint - Jon Sumroy

The Internet has changed everything for individuals, businesses and brands.
• How many people like you?
• What is everyone saying about you?
• Where do you influence?
• Who controls your reputation?
In the good old days there was television, radio and print. People had full control of their reputation and influence. Bad news would disappear in the news cycle; tomorrow everyone was excited about something else. Today, information on the internet is there forever and, when everything starts with an internet search, how do you keep control? How do you manage your Digital Footprint?

Jon is a digital mentor, and entrepreneur. As co-founder of internet marketing services agency,NationalPositions (EMEA) Jon consults to large and small companies, coaching teams, individuals and entrepreneurs.

Impossible is possible - Orel Galula

Orel was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and was put into wheelchair at the age of 12. Since then, Orel has proven that her disability is “only in her legs, nowhere else.” Exhibiting great courage, Orel proved that her mind could overcome the limitations of her body and, with the help of Etgarim, became the first Israel Defense Force (IDF) soldier to graduate the officer course while sitting—or more literally rolling—in a wheelchair. Today, at age 24, Orel takes part in Etgarims’ sailing and scuba diving activities, lives in Kibbutz Shfaim, and work as an attorney.

Watson Wins Jeopardy! - Dafna Sheinwald, IBM Research and Development Lab

Last year, IBM's Watson captured the imagination of the public by winning the "Jeopardy!" quiz show, beating Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, the biggest all-time Jeopardy! winners.
Watson is an AI system capable of answering questions posed in natural language. It 'knew' the quiz answers through access to ~ 200 million pages of structured and unstructured content, demonstrating a technology that embodies natural language recognition, information retrieval, multiple layers of analytics, and even advanced betting strategies.
Dafna, who is one of the researchers who helped build Watson, will cover some of these aspects, and the current attempts of IBM to harness these technologies to various applications.

Getting to know the community women
